![]() If you dont find the Scotts Turf Builder Classic Drop Spreader listed on the bag it doesnt mean it cant be used, it just means you will have to calibrate it to find out what setting is the right one. You can see the video on the spreaders page or you can follow these instructions. Turn the spreader over so that you are looking at the outside of the bottom of the hopper. With the micrometer set at 6 and the trigger squeezed against the handle, the front edge of the projecting ridge on the shut-off bar should be aligned with the calibration line located on the 2nd or 3rd tooth from the center. To adjust the alignment,, use a small wrench to turn the black calibration screw at the lower end of the control wire leading from the micrometer rate setting barrel. Adjust the screw until the calibration line and raised ridge or front edge of the shut-off bar meet. Scott representatives can be reached at 888-270-3714 and they are able to provide the exact spreader setting for the product you are using. This is water soluble granule that could potentially be mixed with a granule and applied to the soil. You may need to wet the lawn first in order to see where the product has landed. This will in turn turn the soil blue and you may not be able to see exactly where the product was applied. ![]() You may check with Scotts directly to see if they have a spreader you can use 888-270-3714.
